Throughout sacred Scripture God has provided a variety of metaphors, word-pictures to describe His people. Understanding these metaphors is critical to a proper understanding of our identity as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. In this episode, we reflect on Paul's words to Timothy as recorded in 2 Timothy 2vv1-7. In these few verses Paul employed the vocational metaphors of soldier, athlete and farmer as word-pictures designed to help Timothy, and us, better understand our calling as followers of Jesus.
